Requirement
India’s largest Airlines – Indigo Airlines needed a Hanger urgently for maintenance work of their ATR 72 Aircraft at Hubli Airport. Indigo team required this temporary Aluminium hangar tent urgently as well as their team wanted to make this hanger without damaging existing tarmac. ClearSpan India was asked to provide a temporary hanger with all the necessary Civil & Electrical Work. Our team proposed a rapid and appropriate solution for this complex and unconventional design of work.
Solution
ATR 72 Aircraft’s width at wing and tail length was 27m and 28m respectively. So, ClearSpan team proposed a 30m clearspan aluminium frame tent structure with 9m ridge height. Complete structure was supported on concrete blocks, keeping height restriction of 10m as per AAI guidelines. Clearspan team also did all the lighting work inside the tent using electrically operated scissor lift. Complete installation was done with highest safety standard.
Benefits
Despite being lightweight, this robust structure was able to resist heavy wind and storm loads at Hubli Airport during peak monsoon season and hence provided a safe environment for the maintenance work to proceed. This hangar served as a great mechanism for saving valuable time and cost at airport while providing utmost quality service.
